Valley of 10,000 Smokes Tour. A daily bus tour from Brooks River is offered to the volcanic valley. Tour 23 miles on a remote park road through the forest, across streams and into the Tundra to the Griggs Visitor Center at the valley Edge.

Novarupta was the largest volcanic eruption of the 20 th century. The Ukak Valley was then covered in hot ash which caused the water below to steam up through the ash. The steam is now gone but the beauty of the valley is changed forever. There is also an optional 3 mile r/t hike down to the valley floor. The tour last 7 to 8 hours.
